Russell Brand isn't Waking People Up - He is Putting You Back to Sleep

UPDATE: YOUR SAVIOUR RUSSELL BRAND - AS I PREDICTED WITH THIS POST - WAS CREATED TO STEER YOU ALL INTO THE BRITISH LABOUR PARTY...MORE HERE >>>

It's always amazing to me how so many people who consider themselves to be 'awake' - still consider their beliefs being stated on the mainstream by a celebrity as being a higher accolade/validation, than any other outlet/research, or even their own convictions.

Russell Brand is a pseudo-intellectual, overpaid, middle-class, media luvvie who is put out there by the BBC and the New Statesman to make you forget all about Jimmy Savile and to quell your anger in a delusional state that he is 'waking others up'.

Russell Brand is put on the TV screens to placate the ones already 'awake', and to put you back to sleep in the belief that this is some kind of victory. It's isn't - it is showbiz being used as a social engineering tool yet again.

You do not need the BBC or Russell Brand to validate your convictions if you genuinely feel that strongly about them. The truth is already self-evident. No mainstream media, political or celebrity validation required.

The Jimmy Savile horror show is the ultimate weapon we have in our arsenal which we can wake people up with. The BBC knows this, and so do their owners and personal friends of Jimmy Savile, the Royal Family. So they throw you a 'truth bone' in the form of celebrity Platitude Prosac Performance in the guise of Russell Brand talking about 'revolution' when in reality it's about distraction.

Do not be bought off with this rubbish. Keep the Jimmy Savile anger raging - it is the key to bringing the whole pyramid down.

Russell Brand's image is also very 'Christ'-like and this is still a very powerful archetype people are wooed by. The Christ image was also utilised by CIA creation Jim Morrison to act as another pied piper for the anti-Vietnam War generation in the mid-late 1960's. This is the same tactic being used again - forget your anger at the system - a celebrity will fight the revolution for you on the telly...

Although the segment is being marketed as Paxman versus Brand it should be really titled: THE BBC VERSUS YOU (again...).

ADDENDUM TO THIS POST HERE>>>

Thomas Sheridan is an independent alternative artist, author, satirist, musician, public speaker, broadcaster and researcher currently based in the West of Ireland. His illustrations have appeared on the covers of newsstand magazines, books and websites worldwide. Thomas' writings and interviews have evolutionised people to build a firewall around their own psyche and not to be lured into handing over personal independence to an exterior collective or guru. As a result, his NO CONTACT EVER AGAIN philosophy applied to controlling individuals and groups has made Thomas an enemy of mind-controlled death cults and neo-Nazi fringe groups.  Thomas has also been featured in several films and documentaries.

If the truth is already self-evident then what exactly is the point of trying to oust Brand as a media puppet? What's the point of anything, really?

    2. Thomas nailed it...Russell Brand is dating Jemima Khan (nee Goldsmith), Jemima's father was Sir James Michael "Jimmy" Goldsmith (26 February 1933 – 18 July 1997) a billionaire financier and tycoon. Jemima has two brothers; Zac Goldsmith Tory MP who is married to Alice ROTHSCHILD, and another brother called Ben Goldsmith, who up until last year was married to wait for it .... drum roll please ... Kate ROTHSCHILD! Best of all, it is alleged Jemima's father James, had a long term affair with Princess Diana's Mother ... Incidentally, Russell Brand made an impassioned plea against BANKERS on NEWSNIGHT only yesterday.

      Listen to Thomas he's right.

    4. The truth may not already be self evident to some, in fact there are many running around claiming to know the truth and to be so 'awake' yet fall over themselves promoting intel plants like Brand following his every word and recommendation without a single independent thought of their own about the possible consequences. That's why its important to expose all the shills out there, because its needed unfortunately.

    5. YES,Brand is the WORST type of fake further.A typical masonic/satanic gatekeeper, feeding the masses scraps of 'truth' that are available at a touch of a keyboard, yet mixing it with so much bull#$%& that it puts the sheeple into a talespin. Trying desperately to put you off the real truth.just an evil pied piper!!

  3. I do agree with much Mr. Brand has to say. He certainly is frank about many things, but I also do agree with you Thomas, he is a copious media hound and he suffers from a self anointed messiah complex which massively deters from anything relevant he has to say. Shill? Maybe he just traded in his drug addictions for self idolization, does not seem like the controllable type.

    4. I agree with this statement, there is a little truth in each statement. But I look at it this way, if all the muppets out there watch TV and they follow Russel Brand and it creates some sort of awareness that changes their thought process then its not a bad thing. It might just be enough to make people want to search for more information and start the journey to understanding what is really going on. :)

    5. If someone says stuff I like then I listen (critically). If they "jump the shark" like Charlie Veitch, then I write them off. Used to like him, haven't listened to him once since he did that 9/11 tour thing. I don't have to agree with everything they say, but when it becomes clear they are not substantially in alignment with truth/truth-seeking and are pursuing some hidden agenda then it's time to cut them off.

    1. But that is not me up there shaking the hand of the root of all the problems...I am not saying that Brand is a bad person - but there is a disturbing amount of NLP in the hypnotic way he talks. He could be owned. For the longest time, I was wondering if there was a wiff of scientology off him.

What changed me? The Jimmy Savile thing. I had no idea just how sick it was until I started to look in there. You are right to trust no one. It's hard enough to trust one's own opinions and including myself in this considering just how rotten the entire spectacle is.

    2. Rubbish mate its not either Russel or Saville. You are just casting it as such in the same way you accuse some imaginary system of casting it. And Russell is not in the remotest way from a middle class background either. I don't need the BBC or Russ to validate my convictions? Did you watch the end of the interview? When I see someone with the same convictions as me articulate them on TV I am happy. I am not saying "so what about Jimmy Saville"? Sure there is a network of paedophiles in high places, that is obvious and its not Russ's fault.

Russell Brand the 'revolutionary' is no doubt talking 'Revolution' by a pool in Malibu today basking in the unconditional love of people who still don't have shit. But who are still dependent on the BBC for their opinions.

    2. Thomas, only a fool lashes out. a wise man picks his battles. calling the Queen a name would have accomplished nothing. it would not have penetrated her cognitive barriers, and it would have assured that you would never have a public platform with which to reach others again.

if RB is managing to install revolutionary ideas in rich trust-fund kids, then he's doing a hell of a lot of a better job than you, who are merely preaching to your choir, spiraling deeper into anger and obsolescence. waking up one rich person accomplishes much more than waking up 100 slaves.

      Delete
    3. @Veru ~ Seems as though you're not really quick on the uptake. "Instilling revolutionary ideas" 'is' the agenda not the solution, that's what the oligarchy want, a revolution that they can (and always have) use to their own benefit in moulding society in a tighter ball for them to roll around at their pleasure. I'd suggest getting more informed before attacking someone like Thomas who seems to be at a level way over your head in what's really going on.

  7. I agree about the "hypnotic" quality of his delivery at times, but that could just be him presenting HIMSELF. He is after all a celebrity and someone with a media career. It doesn't necessarily mean he is acting on behalf of someone in the shadows as part of some elite pied piper scheme (but I'll admit that is still a possibility). My instinct, for what it's worth, is that he is both self-serving and genuine at the same time. By that I mean that he appears to me to genuinely believe what he says, but that he must also know that this new radical stance will sell books, concert tickets, and DVDs etc.

As regards his past (meeting the Queen, being part of the celebrity world etc.), again my instinct is that he is just a human being and has changed his philosophy and worldview since then. That seems plausible to me, because my own views have changed. I will admit that I am easily manipulated and have been in the past, so why couldn't that be true of someone like him, too?

As regards wealth redistribution, yes he is espousing some halfway house in which a benevolent government limits the power and profits of corporations and redistributes wealth. I don't know if such a thing could ever be possible, but I am not going to condemn him just because I don't agree with every last thing he said. Nevertheless, I will be keeping an eye on him and see where this new direction leads. (After all that, you could well be right.)

  8. It's all a matter of perspective! When I watch Russel Brand I don't celebrate that the world is awake, I celebrate that people who aren't are being exposed to buzz words and ideas that have the potential to lead them along their own path of awakening. So to me, I think it's great when celebrities aid in any way. To worship them or to consider them is a free will choice that comes down to each individuals preference. I'm not defending Brand or other celebrities as I do see the materialistic propagation of these figures, but still there is a silver lining. Those who are meant to find it, will find it.

No...not denying that Brand is a media-whore - but that interview will serve to bring things to the attention of many people who would otherwise have their heads deeply buries in Candy Crush Saga. I would suggest it would be prudent to embrace all anti-establishment voices and views right now, because there is no easy answer to ridding ourselves of this turbulent public schoolboy elite...and, frankly, anyone who mobilises one single other person into taking action for change is OK in my book

  16. How on earth do you expect anyone from the mainstream to speak out on anything, when as soon as they do, you jump on them and start calling them names? And what is wrong with being middle class? Is that a crime now? And a luvvie? Why so judgy? And how is he making you forget Jimmy Savile? Is he mind-controlling you? And why do you want us to keep our anger raging? Anger is not the most productive of states - people act irrationally when they are angry.

You don't have to accept a single thing that Brand says... but at least he is using his voice to talk about things of importance, and is helping people to think outside the media-enforced paradigm. He wouldn't be my first choice as a critic of the establishment necessarily, and I certainly don't agree with him on many points (I personally find this interview somewhat cringeworthy to be honest)... but I am at least grateful that someone in the mainstream is voicing at least some of the things that need voicing.

  20. They are attempting to control the narrative, as they have always done before. They know the "awakening" is inevitable, so they need to give it just the right suggestive nudges to keep it corralled within limits that conform with the overall agenda. Above all, keep people inadequately informed, give them the false-hope sugar-coated pill (after all, the messianic dude on teevee is saying stuff that hits all the right notes, the "revolution" must be happening, yay now I can go back to living my life and not worry about it), and DON'T let the REALLY NASTY SHIT you and yours are up to, take front and center in their minds.

Welp, what can you expect? I expect the revolution of awareness to NOT be televised, and NOT to take any predictable, pre-programmed path except in the most mechanical of minds... which still doesn't bode all that well for the masses, but the fate of the soulless lickers of Satan's shit is a much more certain consummation, devoutly to be wished.

  25. MORE ON RUSSEL BRAND :

The applause is not ALL for him. It's mostly for what he says in a high profile public mainstream fora. It's what we all feel - an elephant in the room of mainstream media that no-one is talking about. Power is both corrupt and at present unaccountable to us, the people.

Attacking him is pointless. So is idolising him. 'Ad hominems' have no scientific value.Neither does judgementalism - if anything is anti-science, almost religious. Anyways....

Using the FACTS of the situation may help to some degree.

For example : Getting on with understanding how power works, where the addiction to power emerges from in the human experience, and how to avoid it's pitfalls so that if a change comes, we are ready for it - in terms of skill sets, experience, empathy, self control and discipline - the exact opposite of what all previous 'revolutions' stimulated by Power have delivered.

And all this times to coincide with Mr. Brand venturing forth around the world on his tour of a stand-up routine centered on what exactly? Yes, you guessed it: Revolution! A blatant PR stunt in my opinion - and when I called out Mr. Brand on Twitter this morning to explain himself - he was content to retweet the plaudits of his showbiz chums - so no surprise there, eh? Well done on this article - I was in desperate need of some balance... as i said earlier - it was beginning to feel as if I were the only one to have noticed that this particular Emperor was wearing no clothes!

  28. Bard Llys m not an avid online debater, but i had a bit of a dream about this story when i fell asleep... During the last election, few were going to vote labour again , in the few months before the election the vote lib dem propaganda started quite heavily amongst the student community, they didnt stand much chance of hitting an overwhelming majority to fix their position of sole leadership , and thus it was inevitable that conservative would share the slot,... now bear with me .... If russel inspires a large portion of students , and others, not to vote in the next elecion , it will be primarily , lib dem ,labour, and some of the lower band parties that do so ...it will however , hold little sway over the bulk of tory supporters , thus helping to guarantee a tory majority in the next election, am i right on this? it clearly wont be enough with russell alone, but if a few more celebs were to piggyback on it insired by russels charm it could be weilded to a prettry effective level, ... sorry bout the grammar, still asleep haha

Your a bit like modern art, very poor, appeals to a selective few and creates a reaction more than anything creative, good or positive.

  32. Jimmy Saville??!! This is obviously just an article aimed at winding up Russell Brand supporters as it makes absolutely no sense at all. If someone in the stoplight can encourage people to think critically for themselves then I think that is a good thing. A lot of people have no idea about the 99 percent to 1 percent wealth distribution which is so obvious to some of us. Its not about needing a celebrity for self validation, its about getting the word out to more people. The lies of society can't be contained anymore.

  35. After knowing Russell Brand for over 15 years and being on tour with Noel Gallagher i can assure you Mr Brands intentions are pure.

He's playing in a pit infested with snakes. He's doing a pretty good job at keeping his head above water. Why is this? He's not able to be blackmailed and the security services hate it. "oh look, russells got caught up in another sex scandel" Who cares - it what he does.

Mr Gallagher also knows how to play the system and knows if he goes too much into politics he'll be on the Lennon path (and we all know how that panned out).

Your real government are the bankers.

The politicians are just fronts or 'fall guys' for the public to hate. Remember this the next time Russell Brand is attacking politicians and then look at the banking families sitting at the dinner table with Russell Brand.

Apply cognitive processing, measured thinking, objective analysis and then ask yourself why isn't 'Our Russ' making jokes about the Goldsmiths and Rothschilds whom he is very personally surrounded by?

A whole other version of reality will come crashing in then. The one that really matters.

There's a fine line Brand walks-and many others like him also-e.g. the Zeitgeist movement, that calls for revolution and presents some sort of answer that on the end is a socialist agenda. Don't pay attention to what Brand is criticizing- we already know about that. Pay attention to what he is promoting. If you look hard enough, whether consciously or unconsciously, its a social agenda to its core.

  42. Thomas just like Russell is full of contradictions and hypocrisy but i still admire and will give a little time to their voices now and then.

This piece is not really an attack on Brand although there are numerous attempts to slur Brand in an unintelligent and unfounded manner, 'middle class' ' pseudo intellectual'. 'MI5 agent' This is more an attack on people who Sheridan considers to be not as awake as him and his beloved followers.

There is a definite tone of begrudgery to this piece, maybe it bothers you that you are not going to get the same attention as a 'media luvvie' . This Brand interview or any incident when a public person expresses passion or anger about the system does release the tension and suffering of the 'working' classes who have to grind their way through the day to survive for themselves and their families and if they can find the time to research and become awakened at any so called level they are heroes in my opinion.

But not to you Thomas, you seem to get very angry at people you perceive to be sheeple within these online communities. Shame on your arrogance and hypocrisy, as i have heard you numerous times berating others for referring to human beings as sheeple.

I have alot of time for your work and your voice but unfortunately you come across as an arrogant gasbag with some underlying issues and bias. It amazes me how in interview after interview you can generally be about 50% sublime genius and the other 50% badly researched rants. What is so dissapointing is the hosts generally respond with ' wow amazing interesting' rather than with some critical thinking and constructive challenges to your claims.

Maybe you should be more careful and balanced in your rants and not rely so heavily on your sometimes fawning fans to appease your ego and stop being such a prima donna when you write something that so many people find badly written and ugly.
You are part of the MEDIA now whether you like it or not and should be accountable for what you write.

This movement has no future unless we tame our egos and try to be as helpful and constructive to each other as possible with the ability to be astute critical thinkers. Try whitewash that as being 'spiritual new age bullshit', its jus common sense, somerthing severely lacking in this circus of a world whether it be the mainstream or the alternative/underground.

Empathy for me is the only necessary element in any revolution, and that is something both you and russell have fortunately, we can point to people's fortune in life and accuse them of being hypocrites but that has a whiff of marxism to me, berating someone for their wealth which in Brands case has been won by hard work and talent.

Shaking the hand of the queen? cherrypicking a photo like that as evidence is lame, im sure if we did a list of all the musicians writers poets etc who have been in a position to shake the queens hand, they are all fakes too, and judgig by that photo it was a good few years ago where he hadnt been so involved in this collective awakening process.

Referring to him as a pseudo intellectual is hysterically hypocritical from you or denegrating his sincerity by referring to him as what you perceive as 'middle class'.
Havent u been attacked and smeared as a non academic or dirty implications made about your lack of education and background (Ballymun). Having grown up in mixed backgrounds myself and having spent a few years in a dublin private school which made me a very angry young man, i can tell you Brand is not one of those middle class pricks, not in any shape or form.

I wrote this last year to exorcise that desire to FOLLOW others.

  43. The idea that Russel Brand is being put on the BBC to make people "forget about Jimmy Saville" is one of the most utterly ridiculous, paranoid pieces of nonsense I have ever heard. Yes, I'm sure the executives at the BBC sat around in a meeting to say, "This Saville thing is getting out of hand! Let's wait a few months and then have a comedian do a 10 minute interview on Newsnight about something totally unrelated! THAT will fix everything!"

Is there really ANYONE who feels angry about what happened with Saville who, upon seeing this interview, would just put aside their thoughts about all that and forget about it? Ridiculous!

The subjects Brand was talking about have no relation to Saville, and nobody is looking to him for "validation" of their opinions.

Notice how all celebs, just like politicos or indeed anyone in the public eye, always come together and toe the official line or concensus on the things that matter to the state.

Thats because they are all vetted BEFORE they become successfull, those who may rock the boat in future, such as popstars, just dont make it. And those who have made it and then turn against their masters end up discredited or dead.

If its on the screen its not to be trusted, unless the resistance have stormed the BBC studios to get the message out :-)

    1. This right here is a central misconception in "Truther" philosophy, one that leads to many distorted conclusions.

This assumption that all mainstream media is 100% controlled and anything you hear on it is part of some grand "agenda" is simply not true. There are many instances of highly anti-establishment messages being widely distributed through the media.

The assertion that all celebrities are "vetted" is entirely baseless with no supporting evidence whatsoever. It is an article of "Truther mythology". Where are all these celebrities "coming together to toe the official line" you speak of?

This idea is so full of cognitive dissonance that it leads its believers to think the exact opposite of what they're seeing right before their eyes.

      Delete
    2. Misconception?

Everything you read or watch has been carefully scripted, from Newsnight to children's tv. Audiences are vetted, questions pre written (as proved a couple of years ago on Question Time). Only last week one Beeb political show host emphasised that questions arent pre selected...are you so naive to believe that in post Common Purpose/Leveson Britain that anyone who dares threaten the status quo would get an opportunity to?

And I will qualify that they all toe the party line, sure celebs like Brand may well tickle at certain subjects, but just like the media that informs us daily how bad things are, they always fall short of offering a solution or an avenue for change. And they all sing from the same song sheet when it comes to anything to do with the royal family etc, and they never but never run a headline exposing the royals are Britains biggest benefit cheats-but week after week we have some made up chav family being investigated-why not tell the truth? Or are you one of those flag wavers who thinks its ok for the already wealthy to swindle more from the taxpayer while no doubt advocating that those chavs get their hands cut off..more cognitive dissonance???

The casting couch was once used primarily for sex, maybe still so given the likes of Saville, now its what you know and what you may say. I have a friend who belonged to a very up and coming music group, a shade on the outspoken side but excellent-think The Jam. They were on the verge of making it and they got a visit from industry "suits" and needless to say they didnt agree with "toning it down" so low and behold the gigs dried up.

I take it you are of an age when you remember when pop music did allow some social comment? We all thought Oasis were wonderfull didnt we?, although their music was very safe and did they not have tea with a certain Mr Charles Lynton Blair?

Or how about the US punk music of the last few years, tame and a shadow of what it was-and then you have the likes of Tupac and Biggsy who talked out loud and paid the price for it?

This is not truther mythology pal, just common sense, we are living in a time when the war for your thoughts is being played on every level, propaganda has never been so popular, we have massive wealth in the hands of a few people who also just happen to own the media that form many of those thoughts and views.

I would argue that cognitive dissonance is to ignore what is really happening, and to abstain from critical thought. maybe the best way to put it is if you had that kind of illgotten power and wealth, and access to the tools to shape the minds of the masses so that they didnt ask or fight back, wouldnt you control what they were being told?, because I sure the hell would.

If you seriously think a man that has friends like the Goldsmiths and Redshields, lives in a 2.2 million pound house and mixes with royalty is going to be on the side of the plebs or proles, whatever Socialist term he has for you, then you need help bud.

    3. What you say (and the general consensus in the "alt truth" world) suggests a highly deliberate and purposeful agenda on the part of the shadowy "powers that be", a plan or scheme to direct the whole of society in a certain way. I used to believe that too, but as I've got older and become more informed, I can see that such a plan is simply impossible. There is too much chaos, too many variables to impose the kind of strict vectoring imagined by conspiracy theorists.

This is not to say there is no influence at all over society from the media, of course there is, but in the Truther perception of reality Big Media is some kind of god-like force that the "sheep" have no resistance to. It's not true.

The experience of your friend in the band is not uncommon, but the question is... were those "suits" acting on some secret social agenda, or were they acting on their business instincts? Our culture is currently full of trash because that's what sells, and the "suits" know it. They have no interest in pushing anything other than what is profitable. So many cultural and social conspiracy theories can be more simply explained by the action of greed and profit.

The establishment will try to align itself with whatever is popular. A side effect of this is often a diminishing of the power of the thing they've aligned with.

The amount of money a person possesses should not be a factor in our judgement of them. There are great and benevolent rich people, and there are poor people who are bastards, and every shade of grey in between. Brand has met a few royals at events like the Royal Variety Performance. A few handshakes hardly qualifies him as "mixing with royalty". His relationship with Jemima Khan is now *over*, and when they were together it was condemned by her family, they did not approve. Brand regularly hangs out with homeless people.

  48. I was with Brand 90% of the way, but the two things that made me feel extremely uncomfortable with his "performance" is that he calls for SOCIALISM which historically has proven never to be about the people but always about CONTROL & SLAVERY of the people. Secondly, he buys into the CLIMATE CHANGE con, which is not about taking care of our planet, but another form of CONTROL & SLAVERY, ie a new religion for atheists/Catholic Church 2.0

It is patronizing in the extreme to be told that we are being duped into believing that we are safe because Brand speaks out, either with Paxman or the GQ Hugo Boss Awards, and that we will then sit back and wait for our cause to be fought on TV. People of Scotland, intelligent enough to be on the Yes Campaign for independence have long since familiarised themselves with the big picture - i.e. the inexorable march towards corporate fascist enslavement. We understand the bias of the mainstream media as we witness it filtering our news every day. We are taking action, Russell Brand is simply stating the reasons why.

I agree that his getting the limelight to expound his opinions has been careful adjudged by the mainstream media to act as a pressure-relief valve, though, and many may now just relax and think that the battle is being won. They would be wrong in that assumption if they chose to divert their energies and gaze elsewhere. The battle to regain democracy has only just begun.

This was just an interview for Paxman to attack why a political mag was being edited by Brand. Thats it and it ended up with Brand speaking his mind. I am all for moving towards a new system and 95% of the time I love my fellow free thinkers. But really this piece of utter, utter bollocks.

  60. I heard your Red Ice interview and I respectfully disagree with your take on the "Brand" issue. It's like we watched two different broadcasts. I dig your stuff, but I hardly think this celebrity is the embedded sleeper agent you imply. His general points seemed to encourage others to opt out of our status quo. Now if you want to take abstractions like "socialism" and demonize all those who hold to such tenets, that is another issue. Whether one believed capitalism is a sacred cow, and our current mafia form of it prevailing today is but a deformity of market principles, fine. But there are others who believe the accumulation of capital will always evolve or tend to collusion and thus become a monster as is the current paradigm. My issue is that socialism is a wide moniker, and not merely a covert tool used by the oligarchy running the world. Thus false assumptions enter into such a debate because we all have certain predispositions and unacknowledged assumptions about these political abstractions. One could revel in the fact that a celebrity is expressing what everyone is thinking, gaining exposure into our world of lies. Perhaps off the cuff Brand msy not espouse perfect antidotes, but his key message was that we should all be outraged and opt out of an illegitimate polity running the world into ruin. Anyone here disagree? Fabian socialists are a dirty word, apparently, but Bertrand Russell was an intellectual giant who was among the first to reject the Warren Commission on JFK.
More review of Brand is needed; but such a vigorous attack on one of the few celebrities that speaks truth to power is a good thing, even if he doesn't prescribe each of our personal agendas.

  61. Thomas good on you for posting this material about Mr Brandy. There is a nice English word for someone like this and its Ponce,

I tried to find a good definition of this word but I could not. I include one from online below. But he is basically an Area Boy Made good - Spirit of PrimRose Hill meets the wide toothy grin of Essex Boys. An East End boy who likes West End Girls playing on the Empire Estate. The best of a bad bunch of Good Mixers and Bucks Head CamDen Graduates

He is a good actor and intermediary which ultimately is what Ponces are. They use their social position to leverage a free beer.

Ponce Internet Definition - not even close to UK Slang Meaning
Term originated in the UK and came to prominence in the 1960's, initially to describe a pimp. In Spanish it means "prince" and could have either been referring to the fancy, over-the-top clothing and jewelry popular with pimps, or because he was surrounded by a harem of women, involved in the underworld, but usually not the actual "king" of the area (he had to pay tribute to use the block or neighborhood).

Now it is generally used to refer to someone (usually a male) who dresses in nicer clothing and acts in a polished fashion; often interchangable with fag or pussy, but not necessarily as derogatory: a ponce is not necessarily homosexual, nor are they necessarily passive or weak, but they would tend to be thought of as metrosexual or gay in their manner of dress.

In the US it also takes a bit of a tone for a poser or wannabe, primarily in the punk, ska, or artsy scenes.

I cant stand Brand but only started to watch the interview because of all the hype it was generating. I admit I didnt watch it all but thought " ok ...this guy is for the people and evening up the unequality" etc.
It wasnt until I listened to your interview with Henryk that I went "dohh" and slapped my forehead.
I never knew the "new statesman" was Fabian, I never knew "jemima khan" was his girl friend or her father was a billionaire and her brothers were married to Rothschilds
    .
    Period.

I have read some of David Ickes books over the years , and I know of the manipulation going on but if you dont keep up your guard, you get dragged back into the "matrix" as such. This is why I watched even a bit...because Brand had Icke on a TV program he was hosting....even though it appeared a bit awkward.
    .
I was a young socialist back years ago and thought this is the bees knees then found out the real truth about communism/socialism...total control......it took me years and ONLY through alternative media. The left/right paradigm is a load of rot. Its like the "climatism" we have now...total control. It appears Brands ideas will meld with these cultists. But what you state about the Saville affair seems to be correct and that the Beeb is trying to blanket it out.
Icke was right....and like the David Kelly affair , unless people start to look with an open mind, it may get down played but I dont think it will go away but people will not see the cover ups as they come.

I'm A-nja. Let me ask everybody who is in the "truth-movement" some questions.

    1. Do you really think there can be an outer revolution before there was an inner revolution?

    2. Can somebody who doesn't even know himself lead a crowd to a "better world"?

    3. Can anything be achived without self-knowledge? What do you actually know if you don't even know yourself?

    4. Do you think someone like Jesus Christ incarnated into a poor familiy for no reason?

    5. Do you think that somebody who is involved in the media-business, who is an actor, can be a true leader?

    6. Don't you think that a heroine-addict can lead you somewhere? Take away his drug and you will see what his true interest is.

    7. Do you really belief that a popular media person can serve a purpose that is something other than narcisistic self supply? How naive are you? Why is he in that position in the first place? Question the motives properly, please.

    8. Critizising Thomas for his work is like rejecting to drink you mothers milk although you are a baby.

    9. Without knowing yourself what is known?

    10. First things first! First know yourself and than change the world. An outer revolution will not change you. It only changes the appearance but not the cause of it.

    11. Without knowing what this world is you find yourself in you know nothing at all.

    12. If you want to change something change your wrong perspective first. You want some nice furniture in your prison? Well...go for it!

    13. As long as you belief anything that is presented by the mainstream media you are deluded.

    14. What is the purpose of mainstream media? Don't you know it by now?

    15. You are a stupid lot if you think you can beat the system by running against their walls.

    16. The perverse rulers will allways laugh about you if you don't know who you are because they DO KNOW who THEY are.

    17. Without true self-knowledge nothing is gained. They will laught behind closed doors because they know and you don't.

    18. Answer these questions for yourself else you will never make any difference:
Who or what am I? What is this place I find myself in? What is this world? Why and what for am I here? Where do I come from? Where do I go to?

    19. If you KNOW the answers you win the battle. Else you will be the reason for their laughter.

    20. Don't get me wrong, please. I'm all for you. IF YOU KNOW. Else: Enjoy your delusion!

  65. Calling Brand a "pseudo-intellectual, overpaid, middle-class, media luvvie" is so immature and off the mark. It rings more like jealously that reality.

What would YOUR definition be of a REAL "intellectual"?

All this grousing about Russell Brand by seemingly Russell Brand "wish I could be's"
Haaaaa! Brand is a genius who candidly speaks his mind, even if what he discusses is off-mainstream and doomed to be ridiculed by fools, which it clearly is here.

Good luck you guys - Brand is on fire, while Thomas and many of you seem more like wet blankets.

  66. Thomas Sheridan has nothing but trash to offer- whats youre great plan Thomas ? Other than trash people who dare to make SOME kind of upstir in the press-like R.Brand. He´s bound to be trashed, but that you,Sheridan, would lead the choir is just.... well,- it just talks to you person-all the names you so happely call Brand-"Junkie" offcourse you have to use the dirtiest trick in the book- "Junkie" How low can you get as a human being !

  67. What a load of garbage... Russel Brand is not acting with the BBC. He is not hiding behind bureaucracy, he is in fact, delivering truths that mainstream media is petrified to do.

Take channels 4's Benefit Street or indeed previously The Scheme... mirroring Westminster's image of 'scroungers' when in fact the real scroungers are the fat cats in corporation, and would you believe it, the bleeding MP's themselves with there subsidies costing over 50 times the Welfare bill.

This article is yet another middle/upper class kick in the proverbial balls to the REAL hardworking people. The minimum wagers cleaning your offices, cutting your hair, scanning your shopping items... REAL hardworking citizen. Not rich, using daddy's money but will still take all I can get off the state, liars!

Mr Cameron seems to think the only hardworking people are those wealthy enough to perhaps make sizable donations to his, already a mass of wealth, political agenda.

No one will ever forget the evil of the Jimmy Saville fracas... The same as no one will ever forget Myra Hindley or Ian Huntly. And those two were nobody's, not a once uber-popular Radio DJ.

People who say 'the system works' work for the system...

  69. Thomas, just out of interest, is there anyone (in the media) you haven't got a conspiracy theory about?

  70. Russell Brand? Seriously dude? Not everyone is against us. I mean seriously, people could say the same thing about you.

  71. ? Evidence? I mean its all hearsay, I agree with your points, he fits a Jesus type archetype, he speaks hypnotically etc....but there is no actual evidence. Have to agree with Rich Walko. Apologies for being anonymous, I am not a coward I do not have a Google account or any of the other platforms.

  72. Hi Thomas. I love most of your work. I agree that Brand is sketchy..I don't really see his talent. I have to say though that Jim Morrison was not a CIA implant - he emerged homeless from living on a beach and rooftop. He hated his military father and had no relationship with him at all. Basically you are dead wrong about this guy. Jim was a true mystic and anti-Establishment force, it was no act or pretense at all. The Doors are and were a great inspiration to me and a part of my soul. The wisdom of Jim's poems also quite literally saved my life...like his style or not, the guy was a true genius.

  73. I think all of these comments just prove your point Thomas, many of these commenters seem to have developed an emotional attachment to Russell Brand and the resultant cognitive dissonance from reading your article makes them lash out rather menacingly at you, to anyone who knows anything about the techniques of social control that are used against us then this whole Brand saga just stinks of controlled opposition, and it really is disgusting to see you attacked for simply pointing that out. I really hope you don't get disheartened by all this. And for all those people saying Thomas is 'jealous' of Russell Brand and other such nonsense; intellectually Thomas Sheridan would run rings round Russell Brand, he has absolutely nothing to be jealous of.

Keep up the good work Thomas.

    From your namesake.

  74. As time passes and we come back to this subject we see Brand and his devotees slip into the political system like a hand in a shit filled glove, just the right amount of shit to ease in slowly. Troof Twats.

  75. Russel Brand ewww. All I can say is that I don't live in the U.K. But living in North America, a few years ago, he was on so many talk shows because they said he had a sort of sex appeal. He married Katy Parry, they divorced and the media turned against him. I saw him on a show and the sex appeal he was trying to convey, just wasn't there. He went on tour with his Messiah thing. It came to my city in Canada but I didn't go. Didn't really find him funny. Then I watched the show on youtube and thought, what are the people laughing at, it isn't even funny. I can see wanting one of your own "making it". David Icke is behind Russell Brand also. I haven't listened to Icke in years. But thought after all the years of Icke saying everything is fixed, why would he back Russell Brand. I believe Thomas would spit in the Queen's face.Maybe not literally but Thomas Sheridan is no phoney and leads with his mind. People have to wake up from Celebrity worship.Their well moisturized faces and exact hair dos and clothing suck people in. Hurray for you Thomas, I hope your are getting people in the U.K to think twice about Brand. You are doing a great service. Who knows if he was a drug addict, to me that is trying to make him look street wise and appeal to the lowest common denominator. Not that junkies are low, some are very intelligent. I should say he is trying to come off like the boy on the corner, been there done that, supposedly had an awakening and now feels he should "help" the people.Like he isn't a millionaire and doesn't have a vested interest in making more money. Like Thomas said, if he doesn't want money give some away. Thanks Thomas you were exactly right when you called him out last year. Kind regards to all.

  76. well here we are, Thomas was Absolutely right!! Russel Brand has been telling people for how long now to reject the voting system and here he is in the last couple of days telling people to Vote for the Fabian society's Labour Party just days before the 2015 election!! Smack bang right in your face but all of his little followers are definitely dazed and ready to join the sheeple que on the 7th.

The Purple Pied Piper has landed

Thanks Thomas, I discovered your work through Johhny at Alchemy Radio, hope to hear an interview soon

  77. The hype made me curious at some point, though I know better than to trust anyone being promoted by the mainstream media. I watched him on Question Time (I think) and found his socialist message blatant and insultingly simplistic; he was nearly using slogans (and I can stomach leftist rhetoric to a point, if it comes from well meaning people). He seemed phony, as if he were putting on a show and waiting for a huge emotional response from the crowd. In another video he came up with a phrase that was so laden with neologisms it was almost comical, as if he wanted to prove he had an outstanding vocabulary. The man is not believable at all.

  78. HELLO THERE,

The world is unfolding moment to moment... seems that many people start careers, projects, art, whatever and as the get attention, gain credibility, start to have followers etc. they are put to the test and get the kind of attention designed to take them off onto another tact, conform in some way etc... we are all subject from moment to moment to a choice... which way we are going to go... so even the radical critics of the establishment on whatever level can be brought into the fold because once you get to a certain level that is easier than staying true because the path of truth is a thorny one and being attacked all of the time makes you tired... so we need to develop techniques in order to stave off battle weariness, revive our soul, our creativity and keep on the battle for our hearts and minds against this monolithic psychopathic system. There is world wide psychic entity with many sub entities that is in control... religious types may call this the anti-christ.. I'd call it the anti-life, the enslaver, some say the Great Beast 666 whatever you wanna call it doesn't matter, its semantics, its a metaphor but its also a reality this "thing" and its we the people that support it and feed it in varying degrees because we give it OUR PSYCHIC ENERGY or we allow it to rob our psychic energy.. Bob Marley sung "Babylon system is a vampire, a falling empire, sucking the blood of the sufferers...." and he wasn't wrong... thus Brand is another little minion of this... Icke I do not know enough about that part --- but, not wanting to get caught in new age bullshit.. one thing I would say is that if you look at the piscean age dynamic it was all about following a messiah... a saviour etc. and the Aquarian dynamic is about co-operation, not following messiahs but follow your heart, unite the people etc... this has been conveniently hijacked as the system trys to transmute itself into some kind of omnipresent disembodied entity that makes you think that your thoughts are your thoughts.. creates feedback loops in order to reflect back to you stuff its lifted out of your mind when you are unguarded... hacks into your operating system so to speak... so we need to be careful because much as sharing our thoughts on this medium is an opportunity to unite ideas between the autonomous freedom searching individuals its also a way of letting "them" or "it" know what we are perceiving and it can conduce us into spending less time in more human forms of contact... I mean the internet itself was invented by who? and for what ?.... Facebook is a gigantic experiment in social control and a gage of public opinion.... not saying that we should shut up but being aware of stuff helps conjure it... cos at the end of the day for my part I don't give a shit if they know I am against them... cos I wanna be alert enough to make sure they never take my soul and they won't full stop.... nice to see people resisting mentally, psychically, emotionally and hopefully practically... keep it up, best wishes, Chris

  79. Some supply spy application for mobile phone in impossibly reduced
prices, be cautious, there might be a hitch
there. Both online and offline stores that sell surveillance, or so called
'spy' equipment, post disclaimers stating that the
products they sell are not to be used illegally. Today,
I and Bianca have become best friends again.
